I ran a bunch of errands with my son, had some hawaiian food for lunch YUMMY!
and ended the day at my friend's church for a Gospel Music Celebration for the
St Pauls Missionary Baptist Church's (San Jose, CA) 50th Anniversary. I love
listening to Gospel music, though I don't listen to it often, whenever I do
I am so moved by the music. My friend Roger used to sing in the church choir
and tonight was sort of a reunion of all the past and present choirs this church
has had and believe me there were some very talented people there. This choir was
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!! This musical was better than anything I have ever seen on tv
or the movies...think The Preacher's Wife....BETTER!!!!!!!!!!! They sang some of my favorite songs, "Eye on the sparrow", "Amazing Grace", "He's All Over Me" and others that I hadn't heard of before, but they gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes!! I was toe-tappin' all night!!!!

I have always wanted to attend a church where they sing gospel music, it's something I have never experienced before so tonight was really special for me.

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Now this is the story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-Air
In West Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground is where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool
And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys that were up to no good
Started makin trouble in my neighbourhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
And said "you're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air"

this show brings back memories...I used to watch it all the time
when I was younger. They play reruns on tv every day now and my 10 year old
son watches them CONSTANTLY...then afterwards he'll tell me
I saw a new episode of Fresh Prince!!!!!! I tell him no...it's
a rerun of a rerun of a rerun! He gets so irritated when I say that
or when I start rappin' along with Will Smith during the Theme Song.

It cracks me up when kids are all into the same shows we watched as kids. =0)

Relaxing at the pool, shopping at target, visiting with friends...what could be better?

Today my friend and I took our kids to the pool club. We had a great time, swimming and soaking up the warm California sun. =0)

Afterwards, we decided that we still had time to squeeze in a quick run to Target before our DHs got home from work. Why is it that whenever I go to Target they keep adding new stuff to their "pampered pet" section (not sure what you call it, but you know what I'm talking about, the cute doggy clothes, leashes, pet food dishes, pet purses, etc.) Well a bunch of stuff was 30 percent off so I got Miso a little sundress. She'll probably only have it on a couple times cause I don't like to leave clothes on her (I never thought I'd be one of those people who was all into their dogs, but I am...I can't help it...I love her so much!!!). I did a little photo shoot of her tonight...she looks so cute. And afterward I gave her one of her favorite treats for being good. =0)

Here are some pics I took:

Isn't she cute???????

Alone Time!!!!

Tonight my guys went to the SF Giants game at SBC stadium. Here's a picture of them before they left for the evening:

my son was so excited to go with his dad to a baseball game. We had a pretty good day already, we went to see The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lava Girl which my son has been wanting to see for quite some time now, and then came home and my husband called to say he scored tickets to tonight's game. I was excited because it meant I would have the house to myself, and could catch up on all the shows I've tivo'd in the last week or so....(to name a few: Being Bobby Brown, Melrose Place reruns, Oprah). It was a nice quiet evening! The boys are home now so it's back to chaos as usual...it was fun while it lasted. That's it for now! I'm turning in for the night!

People are so irritating!

This weekend we went camping to a place that I went to when I was my son's age.
I was so excited to go and hoped I would remember the place from when I was a kid.
What I do remember from going there before was that there was this cool little swimming beach area that had water shooting out the middle. I wanted our campsite to be as close as possible to that area since we do not have a boat and the weather was around 105 degrees there.

When we got there, I must have asked 5 different rangers where the swim area was with the water shooting out the middle...no one knew, and they said there was only one swim area but no fountain in it. So we camped by the only swim area and after setting up, hiked our way to go swim. We get there and the man-made beach looks much smaller than I remember and there's not fountain. My husband takes one look at the water, decides it looks like a fresh water fish tank (all greenish brown) and says I'm not going in that. Now normally I'm quite picky about stuff like this, but it was so friggen' hot I didn't care and there were other people swimming in there too so it must be allright. Well there we are on our rafts and all of a sudden there's this bubbling coming out of the water pretty close to where I am floating...it totally freaked me out! I wasn't sure if it was a fish or what it was but it scared the crap out of me. Turns out there's a pipe in the bottom of the swim hole that water comes out of. There must be 2 pipes that does that cause every once in a while you would see it in one spot, then the other, the same 2 spots all weekend. After a while it was kinda funny because new people would come and everyone would freak out over the bubbling. It was kinda entertaining.

So yesterday, we go to the swim area and there are these weird people, very irritating, they're splashing water right by us, not caring that we're just trying to relax and float on our rafts and there is plenty of other areas they could do this without bothering anyone, but no....they just keep on splashing, and swearing around a bunch of kids, it was annoying. Then today we go back and the same people are there as well as all the rest of their group of like 30 people. All equally annoying. These people were pigs, drinking beer and throwing their cans on the ground, eating watermelon and throwing the ends on the ground, swearing and then all of them were playing frisbee in the water, taking up over 1/2 the swim hole to play (think like a volleyball game with teams on each side). I was so irritated that we could only float in the very shallow end (like 2 feet deep) because they were taking the whole area for themselves. They're swearing up a storm, splashing, being pigs, and then when their stupid frisbee lands right near me and splashed me, one guy had nerve to ask if I could throw it back to him (which would require me getting off my comfy raft to do so)...I said "No, I can't!". That felt good!!!! Finally after 3 games of their frisbee playing, they got out of the water. We were able to enjoy it for about 10 mins and then had to get ready to pack up for the weekend. I guess I can atleast be grateful we weren't camping next to them, that would have been worse I guess. When we drove by the swim area on our way out of the campground, I wasn't surprised when I saw all their beer cans and trash scattered all over the beach and they were gone. Why can't some people be respectful and pick up after themselves? I'll never understand that.

Oh well, other than that, we had a great time camping!!!

Strollin' down memory lane

Tonight started off bad, my DH decided he wanted to work on cleaning out our garage. We have accumulated so much crap over 9 1/2 years it's not even funny. He brought his hoopty pick up truck home from work and backed it into our driveway so we could load it up to take to the dumps. Me being the brilliant person that I *think* I am, I grab the biggest stuff I can find to throw away so that the truck is full, thus my job is done.....right? WRONG! My son's Best Friend from 3 houses down has a Coo-Koo older brother who came over and asked if he could have most of the junk we were throwing away. Don't ask me why, he wanted EVERYTHING!!!! Even my old patio cushions, he put them in his car to make the seats more comfy. can you say GHETTO?!?!?!?! So back I went into my garage to find some stuff my neighbor couldn't possibly want so that I could quickly fill up our truck and spend the rest of my evening relaxing....it took a while but we finally did it. Now comes the good part...

So my DH and I are going through this old box that's been sitting on a shelf since we moved into our house and it's a bunch of old cassette tapes (for you youngsters cassette tapes are how we listened to music before CDs and MP3s). We are talking OLD cassettes.....for your entertainment, I'll name a few....Guy, Brandy (her first album), Freddie Jackson, Levert, Stevie B., - do I want to admit this one?? okay....I'll abbreviate NKOTB, Boyz II Men, NWA, X-Clan, Black Sheep, Luther Vandross (I definitely had to keep that one! RIP LUTHER!), SWV, AMG, KSOL radio mixes (you bay area peeps will know what I'm talkin' about), this is just to name a few. THen there were dedication tapes that I had made for my boyfriend now husband.
And the best of all....an old tape from my husband's answering machine when we first started going out, of me and my friend rapping, YES RAPPING on his answering machine. I grabbed that tape out the box and with an oh "HELL TO THA NO!" I was in my car, putting the tape in the cassette player (still not sure why my car came with one of those, who listens to tapes anymore anyways?) - apparantely me. And next thing I know there's me and my friend rappin' and saying things like Yeah BOYEE!!

Today was really hard.....

Today I attended the funeral for the 4 year old boy that passed away a week ago from
choking on a hot dog. It was so sad. I cannot begin to imagine the pain his parents and
family are going through. It makes me want to hug my son tight and never let him go.
I hope that everyone who has read the story of Enrique (posted earlier) that they will
say a special prayer for his family.....
