Ups and Downs...

Do you ever feel like just when things are going good, life throws you a curve ball?
My DH and I have been trying to have a baby for quite some time now. We have an almost 12 year old son, but have had a history of failed pregnancies (2 ectopics, a missed miscarriage and several chemical pregnancies). We've been doing fertility treatments for the past year. Have been pregnant 3 times in the last year all miscarriages. Well I haven't had a . since Aug. 5th. I took a beta HCG test to see if I was pregnant, and it was negative. I went in for an ultrasound and the dr found a cyst on my ovary. =0( I'm worried about this because a friend told me that sometimes cancer grows where cysts have formed. I don't want anything to happen to my ovary as I only have the one fallopian tube (one was destroyed when my tube ruptured) the cyst is on the side that has a tube. I feel like if that ovary gets damaged or has to be removed I have no chances of getting pregnant other than invitro which we can't afford. Our benefits for fertility treatment are running out in end of November. It's so stressful, I try to look on the bright side, we have a son already. And we love him so much, he has brought so much happiness in our lives, but that's why we want another one. To add that much more to our family.

I've thought about trying to adopt but I don't even know where to begin and then I'm worried that I'll be leading myself down another path of dissapointment. I've heard horror stories of families adopting a baby and the birth mom changed her mind a few years later and they had to give the baby who had become a part of their family back to the birth mom. I just don't think I could handle something like that!

I know God will decide what is best for me and my family. I know I just need to leave it in his hands and if it is meant to be, it will be. It's just hard sometimes...

Woo hoo! I'm quite crafty today!

okay so I didn't get anything made for myself, or do any scrapbooking BUT...
I'm quite proud of myself for making a card today and finishing all of the
invitations for my mom's retirement luncheon that my sister and I are throwing for
her at a local winery...

what do you think of these wine bottle invites?

The label is actually a card that opens up and on the inside is the party info...

Happy Anniversary Trish!

I made this card for my good friend Trisha.
This sunday will be her 1 year wedding anniversary.
I am loving the Anne Taintor stuff right now so I couldn't
wait to make a card with one of her postcard images....

My Birthday....

Just a few pics from my birthday...I'm behind in posting on here, and can't figure out where in blogger do I change the date of my post (like if I want to post something that happened before today - any tips are welcome!)

Anyways, my friend's DH has a bday the day before mine, so for the past few years
our families have done something together for the weekend of our birthdays. Last year we all went camping, this year we spent the day in Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

Here are me and my family:

Here are our friends The Davis Family:

It's amusing to watch our friends with their kids. With us, we only have one child, and he's almost 12 so he's very low maintenance. Our friends have a 7 year old, 2 year old and 10 month old. It took them 30 minutes from the time we got out of our cars in the parking lot til they had everyone buckled into the double stroller, triple and quadruple checked to make sure they had diapers, wipes, formula, sunscreen, teething rings, etc. etc... - I'm sure we think it was humorous now, but I know we won't be laughing when we have a little (hopefully someday soon!) and have to start all over with strollers and diaper bags and all that. =0)

This ride was crazy....I can't believe my son wanted to go on it. Luckily his
dad is into wild rides and went with him....I felt like I was going to be sick just watching from the ground!

First Day of School

My son was so excited on his first day of school. This year he is a
BIG BAD SIXTH GRADER....well, I may have ruined that reputation once
we got to school and I started taking a million pictures like the
proud mom that I am...(hey this might be my last time to take pics on
the first day of school! I'm pretty sure he will not let me do this
next year when he starts Jr. High!)
