Pumpkin Carving.....

Since the pumpkin patch we normally go to didn't have very many, we bought just one pumpkin. We went to my friend Mindy's house to carve pumpkins. The kids did a great job and had a lot of fun carving pumpkins and unfortunately for Mindy, throwing pumpkin guts all over her table!!!! At least they helped clean up afterwards...its' the least they could do right? LOL!

Christian did a great job on his pumpkin. Usually I help him with it, but this year he did it all by himself!

And just in case you didn't know who's pumpkin it is, Christian carved ILS on the back which means
I LOVE SKATEBOARDING!!!!

Ghost House

It wouldn't be Halloween without a visit to the "GHOST HOUSE". We've been going for years, in fact I used to go when I was a little girl so it's fun to carry on the tradition with my son. My girlfriend mindy and I took the kids and of course had to get a carmel apple!!!! That's one of the best parts about going to the ghost house! The kids had fun playing games, and Christian and Mindy's oldest son figured out how to win at the treasure chest game so they kept getting back in line to win more prizes LoL!

My Weekend....

While my husband was in Vegas for an r/c boat race, my son and I decided to take a vacation of our own. Not very far, just to my mom's house in Pleasanton for the weekend. I love spending time with my mom. We always have a good time together and it's relaxing to just do whatever we want, no plans just have fun! We went to the Danville Fall Festival for a little while on Saturday. I didn't buy anything, but we saw this beautiful GLASS PUMPKIN PATCH.....I would love to have bought one but thought, I don't really have anywhere to put it when fall is over and it would probably get broken so I'll just take a picture:

I've always wanted to have one of these cartoon caricatures done of my son, and there was a guy there drawing them for only $5!!!! It turned out really cute and I had it matted & framed to hang in his room!!!

We went to Richards Craft Store and got a bunch of deals (everything was 25% off in the store on Saturday!!!) And of course after running around and shopping, I had to take my son to the skate park for a while. When we were there, this older guy was skateboarding which at first I thought what is this old guy hanging out with a bunch of kids? But he was actually a really good skater. My mom & I got to talking with him and found out he's been skating for 35 years, and his son (Nate Schierholtz)plays for the SF Giants!

He was really cool, and you could tell he is a really proud dad! He gave us some autographed baseball cards which was very nice!

The rest of the weekend we just relaxed, ate out a couple times, went through old family photos and went to the book store in Downtown mainstreet. I didn't really take a lot of pictures, just enjoyed spending time with my mom and my son. It was a great weekend!!!!

Spooky Halloween Brownies

I saw the recipe for these on another website or blog (unfortunately I can't recall where I saw it, I saved the picture and recipe onto a word document instead of the link). Anyways here are mine (I had a little trouble with the eyes and mouth because I used the decorater black frosting that comes in a can with the different tips and it called for piping the eyes which would've probably worked better. I'll try that on the next batch.

I wasn't really planning on going anywhere today except for the Pumpkin Patch in the afternoon, but I got a call from my friend Diana saying "Get dressed! We're going for breakfast!" so that changed my lazy morning! We went to Country Waffles and had a really yummy breakfast and then went to Target and bought a few goodies.

Then later I went to the Pumpkin Patch with the family and my son's friend Eric. We were dissapointed that the pumpkin patch we always go to was VERY VERY SMALL. Usually they have this huge pumpkin patch with lots of areas for taking pictures, HUNDREDS of pumpkins to pick from and a ginormous corn maze. All they had was a tiny pumpkin area near their fruit stand. Not sure what was going on but I did overhear them saying things would be back to normal next year (yeah next year my son will be in high school, I was lucky he was even willing to go this year!) Oh well! Here are the few shots we got when we were there picking out pumpkins:

Fun Halloween Project....

My friend Valerie sent me an idea for a collage halloween frame she found on 2peas. I decided to "re-purpose" an old picture frame instead of spending money on a new one so I found an old oak frame and spray painted it black. Then I took my 1 3/4" square punch from stampin' up and used my halloween scrapbooking paper, stickers and brads and made a collage. I'm really pleased with how the frame turned out and I'm thinking I will make a fall / thanksgiving one, christmas one, etc. to switch out during different holidays. These could make really great gifts too!

Here are a few pictures and a closeup (click on the pictures to make them bigger):

I.L-O-V-E.FALL!!!!!!

After we left the festival in Oakland we went out for a nice lunch at Chevys. Then we came home and did some housework which was nice because we haven't been home much to do any more than laundry and dishes around the house. I even got around to decorating for fall!!!

Fun Day....

I'm enjoying the weekend so far because we don't have ANY PLANS....sometimes it's nice not having set things you have to do or go to. So today we went to a festival in Oakland that my co-worker told me about. They opened a new skate park in Oakland and had a grafitti battle and some performers. We got there right when it started so we didn't see any of the performers because we left to go eat. Here are some pics:
