MOVIE MARATHON WEEKEND!!!!

My husband and I don't usually like to be out on New Year's Eve. Too many people out drinking and driving. We like to stay in and relax. So I decided we would have a movie marathon weekend.

I've been wanting to watch this movie every since I saw Oprah talk about it on her show. Last night I watched it and it was so good. I highly recommend it!:

here's a link to watch some trailers of the movie:

http://www.vh1.com/movies/dvd/73105/dvdmain.jhtml

SOme other movies we are planning on watching are:

Will let you know how we like these movies. If you've watched any good movies recently (movie rentals, PLEASE recommend some to me in my comments section - with this horrible weather we're having it's so nice to curl up on the couch and just watch a good movie and stay out of the rain!)

Some cool things my son got for xmas....

Being an only child does have it's privileges (though I'm hoping he won't be an only child for long)......my son SCORED big time this year for xmas....here are just a few of his favorite things:

Cingular's new FIREFLY phone:

This phone is great if you just want your child to have a way to contact you, but not run up a huge phone bill. He can only dial / get phone calls from the numbers that I have pre=programmed into his phone using a pin code. I love this thing and it's so cute and small!

VUGO (ask me if I've figured out to install this onto our computer yet? NO!!!) but once I do, this thing is "suppossed to be" really cool! = this was an after = xmas purchase. It's normally 130.00 but it was on sale at Kohls for 60 bucks!!!!

FINALLY a new basketball hoop / stand. Poor kid is almost 11 years old and has still been practicing with his little tikes one he got on his 2nd bday. I'm so embarassed to admit that! But his friends actually like using it cause they can slam dunk on it! But finally he has one that is more age appropriate:

He received a ton of other things but these were his favorites!

My DH and son were really good on shopping for me. They got me the Issey Miyake perfume I wanted:

a bunch of stuff from one of my new favorite stores we just got called ULTA it's just like sephora, it has makeup, perfume, hair products, candles, all kinds of goodies!!!!

They also got me a new knife set for my kitchen that's stainless steele knives...I love it!!!!

Then of course after xmas I went shopping with my good friend Liana. We hit Old Navy and got some cute fleece pullovers (on sale of course!), then to Kohls for some clothing, I got a couple new sweaters, and jeans.

Now I just need to clean out my closet and dresser to make room for my new stuff!

Update on me....

Well, it's been quite a while since I've updated. 21 days to be exact. That's a long time considering I was updating daily for a while there.

I'm still bummed about losing the baby. But a little time has passed and I'm trying to focus on the positive in my life and realize that I am still young (32) and have time to keep trying for a baby. Right now the dr. wants me to wait a month or so, and have the HSG (dye) test done on my fallopian tube to make sure there isn't any blockage to that tube. I'm not looking forward to doing it but hey maybe it will help us get pregnant easier / faster.

Bad News.... =0(

It's been a week or so since I've updated my blog. I've been so focused on the pregnancy and nothing else. I went in yesterday to the dr's office to have an ultrasound because of some spotting I was having and when they did the u/s they
couldn't find a heartbeat anymore and the baby was only measuring 6 weeks 3 days (at my last u/s the baby measured 6 weeks 1 day on 11/28)...so the baby stopped growing.
I have another u/s scheduled for today at 11:30am in Radiology so they can confirm what the other nurse saw and then take it from there.

I'm so dissapointed. This is the 3rd problem pregnancy in a year. I thought for sure this time this one would work out. I had a really good feeling about this one.

I'll keep praying God will bless me with a baby soon.....

Thanks for letting me share...

FIRST ULTRASOUND!!!!

So yesterday finally came....the day I could have my first ultrasound to rule out my pregnancy being ectopic. The nurse showed me where the baby was in my uterus and the little heartbeat. I almost started to cry I was so happy that it's not an ectopic. I've been praying every day several times a day that this pregnancy will be a healthy one and that my baby will be fine. And it looks as though my prayers have been answered!

The nurse said the heartbeat was a little slow and the baby is really small for me being 6 1/2 weeks, she said I might be earlier than we're thinking which since I ovulate late in my cycle she said that would make sense and that I'll just come back in 2 weeks for another ultrasound and we should be able to get some better pictures at that appt.

I wore all PINK during the appt.....and plan on wearing pink to all my ob/gyn appts in hopes for a girl! =0) We'll see if that works or not ha ha!

I'm back from DISNEYLAND!!!!!

Well we got back Sunday night from Disneyland...still haven't finished unpacking everything (we had so much stuff packed you'd think we were there a few months!)
We had a great time even though I couldn't really ride many of the rides my family went on cause of being pregnant but I just love being at the Happiest Place On Earth so I didn't mind. I probably rode a total of 5 or 6 rides the entire time we were there but that's ok. I did get a lot of people watching done which is always fun. =0)

We had our Thanksgiving Dinner at Ariel's Grotto on Paradise Pier in California Adventure. We were so excited because the waitress informed us we could have a real thanksgiving dinner, but when she came back to take our orders, she then told us they were all out of turkey...talk about a let down!!!! But my son and my niece and nephew got a bunch of autographs and pictures taken during dinner which was great!!!!

ONe bummer while on our trip was my new digital camera that I have only had for a few months decided to stop working on me. It kept saying lens error and would shut down. Luckily, I bought it at Costco and was able to go take it back and get a new one yesterday. They are so great about returns and exchanges...I LOVE COSTCO!!!! =0)

I hope everyone had a wonderful TURKEY DAY!!!!!

YIPPPEEEE!

Okay so today was stressful but ended good.
I went in first thing this morning to do my bloodwork.
They told me it would be about an hour for the results.
I tried calling back several times within the next few hours
only to find out the results were not in yet. I had a facial
scheduled with my friend so that helped distract me and relax
me a little bit. Then after the facial I called Kaiser and got
my hcg results. Drum Roll Please............................

277!!!! So my count doubled like it is suppossed to! Now, I thought
they would continue to do the blood tests but they said they would just
schedule me for 11/28 for an ultrasound. By that time I should be about
6 weeks prego and hopefully they can see that the baby is in my uterus, not
my fallopian tube (for those of you who haven't been following along on my
blog, I am high risk for ectopics having 2 previous tubal pregnancies).

Anyways...I'm really hoping all goes well. So far everything is positive so
no reason to think otherwise right?! =0)

Well it's getting late, I think I'll turn in now....be back soon!

Monday, November 14, 2005

Keep your fingers crossed!

I found out this Saturday that I am pregnant! I'm really hoping this one will be a normal healthy pregnancy. Did my first lab work today and my hcg was 128. Much better than in September when it was only a 9. (which ended up being a miscarriage). I'll do another lab on Wed and am hoping the numbers double. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I GIVE UP!!!!

I'm giving up on EYEBROW WAXING. It doesn't matter WHERE I go or WHO does it, I always have this horrible reaction afterwards. My skin gets all red, bumpy, then dry and all irritated....It's probably my fault. I have rosascea and probably shouldn't be doing things like that to my skin but I want nice eyebrows and go through 3-4 days of horrible redness and bumpiness just so they'll look nice.
I think I will just go back to tweazing. It's a pain but atleast I won't look like that kid Rocky from that Cher movie MASK....really it's not that bad but I feel like it looks that bad.... =0(

I would upload pics but it's too embarassing so I'll keep a low profile for the next few days until I'm back to normal..... =0)

thanks for letting me vent!

What a Day!!!!

I wasn't planning on doing anything yesterday because I have a horrible cough and really should've just stayed in bed all day BUT it was the last weekend that Great America was open and we could get a friend in free if you're a VIP passholder. Plus I had this little Spongebob Towel / Backpack that I bought during the summer which the cashier forgot to take the sensor tag off of so I wanted to return it. So my DS and my mom and I went to Great America. We actually didn't go on any rides but spent the day playing games trying to win prizes and browsing the gift shops. We had a great time. After we left, we were trying to figure out where to go for dinner and I suggested Dave & Busters. We went there and HAD A BLAST!!!!!!! My DS has never been there and absolutely LOVED IT! What was really great was that place has awesome prizes that are easy to win. You can play games to earn tickets and then go in their store and buy stuff. He spent almost all day at Great America trying to win this little bart simpson and never won it. He went to D&B's and won a LARGE Bart Simpson, a large Patrick Star, and a ton of other stuff. He ended up having quite a bit of prizes by the time we came home as shown in this pic:

Today I think we will just relax around the house. I seriously need to do a bit of housework so I will do that and MAYBE JUST MAYBE I'll have some time to scrap some pics from yesterday!

Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

I HATE RAIN!!!!

This morning kinda sucked. I'm not feeling well and had to take my son and neighbor's daughter to school. It starts raining on the way, I turn on my windshield wipers and the stupid blade came off...!!! Dont' you hate when that happens? I don't know how to change the wiper thingys so I had to take it to a MIDAS mufflers to fix it which shouldn't be necessary since we own an automotive repair place but I don't feel like driving over the bridge. Luckily the manager at Midas is my DH's friend so he did it for FREE!!!!

I hope it stops raining because I really should take down all the Halloween decorations from outside. It's already the 4th and I still have tombstones, and skeletons in my yard....I guess I'll wait a little bit until atleast all the stuff is dry. Right now everything is dripping wet.

I'm also hoping I'll be feeling better soon cause I would really like to scrapbook some things this weekend. I was doing so good getting caught up on my 2005 album and I don't want to fall behind. I think I will print out some pictures and get them organized then I'll scrap either tonight or tomorrow.

I think I'm motivated to scrap also because I went to Michael's yesterday to buy a school project board for my son but OF COURSE I can't go into that store without buying a bunch of other crap I don't really need. I bought 4 scrapbooking magazines, one of which was called Scrapbook answers. I've never heard of this magazine but it was cool. It came with a software program and had all kinds of tips for editing photographs. I just might have to subscribe to this one!

I also picked up a sizzix sidekick.

I already have the script alphabet set that I bought at Suzy's (fairyscrapmother) about a year and a half ago. Now I can use it. I hate dragging out my regular sizzix, it's so dang heavy!!!

What I REALLLLLLLLLLLY WANT is one of those laser cutter machines that you can connect to your computer to print out and laser cut fonts. I'm thinking I like the
Wishblade but I havent' really done enough research to know if I really need one or want to spend that kind of money. It looks like it's about 500 bucks!! YIKES!!!!

Well I'd better go, I'm watching my friend's son and need to drop him off at Kindergarten shortly. Talk to ya later!

It's good to be home.......

Well, I am back from our trip to VEGAS. We had a really good time. A few highlights from our trip were the Fremont Experience, The Coyote Ugly Bar, and shopping at the Fashion Show Mall.

The WORST part of our trip?.......we were 1 block from our rental car return when a minivan ran a stop sign and ran into our little rental car. Their car ended up on the other side of the intersection facing oncoming traffic. Their entire wheel flew off and landed in a nearby parking lot 30 feet away.....of course being the scrapper that I am, I had my trusty camera with me to get photos.

The people who hit us "said" they were okay after the accident happened. But once the police arrived they all said we hit them and that they had back and neck pain and were all taken by ambulance to the hospital.

this accident happened 1 hour before our flight causing us to miss our flight, and barely make it home in time to take our son and his friends out trick or treating...
my son is the one dressed as a skeleton.....

Well my cleaning lady isn't coming today afterall. She has a dental emergency so she won't be here til next week. I am so glad I got a lot of housework done yesterday as the house is pretty tidy. Just a few things to do that the cleaning lady would normally do (mop, wash the linens, scrub the bathroom, etc.)

I would love to get a jump start on my xmas gifts. I feel like Christmas will be here before I know it and I'll be unprepared. I think this year I will make most of the gifts. I have some ideas of a few things, just need to get some things on my to do list done then I can fool around making stuff. I also need to start designing my christmas cards. I haven't decided what I'll do this year. last year I did a cute photo shoot with my son holding up HO HO HO letters....I'll have to get creative to top last year's card. =0)

Did I mention I have the front of my house all decorated for Halloween? I normally don't do it outside but my son really wanted a spooky house so I tried my best. Hey, compared to most of the houses in my neighborhood, my house looks pretty impressive. I don't know why more people don't participate in halloween. When I was little almost every house did. Now most of the houses have their lights out.
I feel bad for the kids. So atleast I have my house decorated and I'm going to buy a ton of really good candies to hand out! I also got a spooky halloween cd from the Spirit Store!!!

Well that's it for now...I'll take some pics of my yard this afternoon and post them later on tonight...

BYE!

Today was quite a busy day for me. I got up, got my son and neighbors daughter off to school, came back did a few loads of laundry and then went out to run some errands. I went to 2 banks to make deposits, stopped by the finance company to pay our RV payment, went to Kaiser to do some bloodwork for the fertility treatments (I HATE DOING BLOODWORK!!!!! they can never find my vein!!), went to AAA to buy another registration sticker for our car cause someone decided to take ours - isnt' that great, someone steals mine and I have to pay 16.00 for another one...just lovely! Had lunch with my friend, and went to her house to check out her 2 engagement rings that her fiance got her, she's trying to decide which one to keep (lucky her huh?)

Came home, did some data entry for our business (my least fav thing to do), did some more housework, moved our living room furniture around (I get bored easily with my house so I like to change things up!),helped my son with his homework, cooked dinner, and went to bed early.....I feel like I got a lot accomplished today which is nice! The cleaning lady will be here tomorrow so that will be good, I can take a break from housework and get some more paperwork done for our business.

That's it for now!

I LOVE WEEKENDS!!!!!!!!

Okay the weather isn't so great today, it's been raining a little bit off and on, but I don't care, it's the weekend!!!!!!!! I love weekends! I'm picking up my niece and nephew this afternoon and they will spend the night at our house. We're all going to the movies with the free movie passes I earned from Albertsons! (I've earned 6 tickets so far woo hoo!).

I'm going shopping at Suzy's garage this morning with my friend Valerie and then hopefully get some scrappin' done before it's time to drive to my sister's to get the kids.

I went to Joann's fabrics last night because a friend tipped me off that they had a new shipment of DCWV Textured Cardstock Stacks. I LOVE THEM and always have to buy them online and pay for shipping cause our Joann's always runs out of stock. I got 2 regular colored stacks and 2 of the Christmas colored cardstock stacks plus a little Christmas stack for making some cards and tags:

I also went to Tar-gay (Target) and got some more of my favorite Jar candles for only 7.99!!!! I dont' have a fireplace in my house so I always light a TON of candles...... =0) These are my favorites right now cause they are pumpkin spice and french vanilla and because they are so cheap! I usually pay an arm and a leg on jar candles so I stocked up on these!!!!

I also bought some halloween decorations for outside. Haven't put them up yet, maybe I'll do that tomorrow afternoon after I take the kids back.

Well that's it for now, I'd better go get ready to shop at Suzy's! (to all you 2peas that's fairyscrapmother)

Ta ta for now!!!!!

Today was my first FERTILITY APPT!!!!

Well today was my first fertility dr. appointment. It went really well.
DH and I went to the appt., met our dr. we will be working with (she's
really nice!) And we discussed some of our history with her. She felt that
there is no reason why we could not have another baby and that we would be
great candidates for artificial insemination. THe best part is my insurance
covers it!!! YEA!!!!!!!!! So she has ordered some tests from both of us.
I will have to do a dye HSG test soon and then we'll go from there. I'm so
happy the appointment went as well as it did and am really feeling optimistic
about things!!!!!

Bye for now!

I'm Baaaaack!

Sorry it's been a while since I've posted. I got frustrated with blogger and my not being able to post pictures for some reason. SOmetimes it works for me and other times it doesn't. Today seems to be a good day, I made some cute vintage halloween cards for my mom and for my niece & nephew...wanna see?

Ummmm...what else? well I've been scrapping A LOT lately. And am hoping to scrapbook some pics I took today. My son wanted to surprise my DH when he gets home so he washed his car. I got a bunch of shots of him and want to do a "Car Wash" page. =0) WE'll see if I get it done today or not.

I really should be doing some housework or we might not make it to the pumpkin patch today which I really want to go!

Since I haven't been posting lately, I'll post a few pics, this is of the Outback Coasters I painted and altered into a Welcome Baby card for my friend. I love how it turned out!

Woohoo! Another great weigh-in at WW!!!!

So, I've been trying really hard all week to stay within my weight watchers points and get exercise and it's paying off! I had my meeting tonight and I lost another 3 pounds! That's 5.3 pounds total loss in 2 weeks!!!!!! I'm so excited!!!

I'm a SCRAPPIN' FOOL!!!!

This weekend my DH was out of town for a r/c boat race. I took full advantage of him being away and asked my friend is she wanted to scrap. Her DH was also away so we planned to scrap saturday and sunday nights. I didn't get as much as I had hoped to get done, but 9 pages is pretty good. I will post pictures of the pages as soon as I figure out why it won't let me post pics on here. I've emailed blogger support to see what the problem is. If you can't wait to see the pics, go on 2peas and look my gallery up (mesoscrappy).

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I'll blog more tomorrow!

Good Night!

Today is a good day!!!!!

Well, today was pretty good, I dropped my son and our neighbors daughter off at school and went straight to the gym. Worked out on the elliptical machine for 40 minutes. Went home to shower and get ready for the day and got a call from the fertility doctor's office (FINALLY)....we now have our first appt. scheduled for next month...I am so excited!

Had lunch with a good friend today at Olive Garden and resisted having a whole basket of breadsticks with alfredo sauce...those things are addicting! Instead I planned ahead of time what I would eat, had the waiter give me half the meal and put the other half in a to go box for tonight's dinner and drank water.....I know it's only been a week and a half since starting on WW but I really feel taking it one week at a time is helping. I hope I can stay motivated on the weeks where I don't see a loss when I weigh-in. I'm really wanting to be healthier and to lose some weight would be great too! I know I can do it if I work the program, it's worked for me before.

That's it for now!!!!!!

Tuesday, September 20, 2005

WOOHOO!!!!!!

Well, I went to my weight watchers meeting last night after 1 week of counting points, and my hard work paid off, I am down 2.3 pounds!!!! =0)
I am going to take it one week at a time (setting long term goals as far as weightloss goes never works for me). This week I will add in some exercise
and hopefully it will help me lose even more by the next time I weigh-in.

Saturday, September 17, 2005

Congratulations Trisha & Roberto!!!!!

The wedding was beautiful!!!!! Just wanted to say Congratulations to Roberto

Focused on Food!!!!!

Well, in an effort to lose weight, I have re-joined Weight Watchers
(this is like my 3rd or 4th time doing WW...I know the program works
IF you work it, I just have trouble sticking to things). The difference
this time, is 2 of my friends are also going to these meetings so I think
having some friends to support me who are going through the same thing
will help me.

I feel like now that I'm doing ww, I'm CONSTANTLY focused on food...
how many points is this, how many pcs of that can I have?...If I eat
that will I have enough points left for the rest of the day?? I know it
will get easier, right now I just need to find things that are healthier
and that fill me up and are tasty at the same time (that's not too much
to ask is it??)

I LOVE ROSES!!!!!

My DH brought me home roses this week.....I love roses! They make me so
happy...I just wish they would last longer. =0(

So.....to thank my DH for bringing me flowers (which he is actually pretty good about bringing flowers home quite often)....I made a quick digital scrapbook page,
printed it onto cardstock and taped it to his steering wheel so he would find it
the next morning.... =0) I wish I could show a pic of the page I gave him but I can't find the original on my computer, all I have is the first one I printed that cut off at the bottom cause my printer settings were wrong....Anyways...here it is:

Poem says:

I'll Love you FOREVER....

I love you so deeply,
I love you so much,
I love the sound of your voice
And the way that we touch.
I love your warm smile
And your kind, thoughtful way,
The joy that you bring
To my life every day. (**well ALMOST every day, but if I added that in, it wouldn't rhyme!)
I love you today
As I have from the start,
And I'll love you forever
With all of my heart.

I got this poem off of 2peas. (wish I could take credit for writing it but I can't).

Well I'll sign off for now, have a lot of stuff to do before the weekend starts and gets all crazy....HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!

I'm a SCRAPPIN' FOOL!!!!!!!!

This weekend we had a r/c boat race near Sacramento. Since last week
was so emotional & physically draining for me, I was actually looking
forward to getting away and having a whole weekend to just scrap!
My DH didn't even complain when I made him pack up almost my whole
scrapbook room into our RV (normally he'd say something like "Are
you sure you need all this sh*t for just one weekend????" but not
this time - I think he knew I needed to do something to cheer myself
up and this did the trick!). I got 16 pages completed (let me tell you,
I don't normally even complete 16 pages in one year so this is a MAJOR
ACCOMPLISHMENT!). Plus I did a paper bag album for someone as a gift.
I am so excited that I want to just keep on scrappin! Here are some pics
of the pages I've done:

Beach Day:

Crab Feed:

Mother's Day:

First day of school:

This isn't all of them, you can view them on 2peas (my 2peasname is: mesoscrappy)
feel free to leave comments I am ADDICTED TO PEANUT PRAISE!!!!!!!! hee hee

Other than scrapbooking, we did lots of fun activities at the campground we were at, like Bingo (I haven't played bingo in YEARS....but it was so much fun!):

I got to visit with my good friend Peggy (who is my scrappin' buddy at the boat races) - both our husbands and sons race boats and we hang out in our motorhomes and scrapbook:

Well I've posted a ton of pictures so maybe I"ll save some for tomorrow.....

Can't something go my way for a change?????

This weekend had lots of UPS AND DOWNS.....Saturday I decided I would JUST FOR KICKS take a pregnancy test. I'm only on day 30 of my cycle and usually don't start for a few more days but what the heck, I have a 4 pack of tests from costco. So I take the test and it says PREGNANT. Of course this one has to be defective so I take another test and what dya know, it says PREGNANT too! I'm so excited! My DH and I hadn't really been trying this month because we were going to wait to see the Fertility Doctor (who by the way hasn't called and it's been over a month since the ob/gyn referred us....but I'm not bitter!!!) I call up my DH to tell him the good news! I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much because last november when I was pregnant it ended up being an ectopic pregnancy (my 2nd one) that ruptured. So for the next 2 days I'm completely focused on any feeling / pain / cramp on my right side thinking it's a tubal pregnancy. I go to Kaiser, take my bloodwork labs, find out my HCG is a 9 which at the time means nothing to me. I go home, check out my ob/gyn's website and look up a chart for HCG levels. According to her chart people who are NOT pregnant are an HCG of 5 or less. So immediately I am thinking, i'm only a 9, that's really low. But I'm hopefuly because maybe it's just too early to be a high number...like maybe I am only a week prego. I try ALL WEEKEND to keep myself occupied because I'm used to having bad luck and tend to analyze everything and get myself very stressed out. I spent Sunday with my mom, we went out to lunch and then went shopping. Monday my friend who is pregnant and I went out for lunch and went to my favorite mall to shop. It definitely helped pick my spirits up. But, I get home and have some cramping and spotting...I call the advice nurse at Kaiser and they tell me given my history of ectopic pregnancies, I need to come into emergency. So me and DH and DS go to the ER, they run some tests, my HCG is now down to a 3. So the doc tells me either I'm miscarrying or it's just early to know what's going on. That I should go home, rest, and follow up with my ob/gyn. I go on Tuesday and see my ob and she tells me it was a Chemical Pregnancy (I've never even heard of that before) and that I miscarried. That it wasn't meant to be but just produced enough hormones to show up positive on a pregnancy test. I am so bummed. I wish I could just get pregnant already and have a healthy normal pregnancy like I had with my son. There are so many people who can't afford to keep having babies or don't even take good care of their babies and they just keep poppin' them out. Then there's me and other friends of mine who are or would be great parents and can't seem to get pregnant. I am grateful that I have my son. THere are many who don't have even one child so I am very blessed that I have been given a child already, but I want so badly to grow our family. My DS is almost 11 and we still don't have another child. Oh well, I guess we'll just wait and see what happens when the fertility dr. finally calls.....

First Day Of School!!!!!!!!

Today my son started his first day of 5th grade. Ever since he stopped letting me take his picture at school (3rd grade) I've started taking a picture of him in front of our house.

It's amazing how much he's grown since just last year's photo. I can't believe he is a 5th grader. It seems like yesterday I was taking him to kindergarten.

I'm looking forward to my son being back in school so that I can get some structure back in my schedule. Sometimes as a SAHM I have a hard time being disciplined in getting the things I need to be doing done. Especially in the summertime when every day my son asks excitedly "What are we doing today mom?!" I should be answering "laundry, dishes, grocery shopping etc." but I look at his cute face and that all goes out the window. I end up taking him to the pool, or great america or the movies. I'll miss that, but that's what makes the summer special, getting to spend time with my son and doing fun things with him. Providing memories for him.

Life is back to normal with getting up and dressed and out of the house EARLY, PTA meetings, Homework, getting to bed early, etc. etc.

Well, I guess I'd better go make dinner, it's a school night!!!! Bye for now!

My birthday weekend.....

This weekend we went camping for my birthday. I can actually now say I am getting a bit tired of camping. Don't get me wrong, we had a great time camping. We had good food, and good company along on our trip. Only a few annoying things happened during our trip like people who let their rugrat kids scream and yell at the top of their lungs at 7am or the idiots who open up the back of their SUVs and all you hear is "BOOM, BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM" - arrrrrrrrrrgh! this was at 6am btw. My cell phone wasn't getting any signal or you could bet I would be calling the ranger to complain. I guess that's what I get for going camping instead of staying at some nice ritzy hotel on my bday.

The guys went fishing in the mornings, they didn't catch anything but had a good time trying. My mom and I went shopping at the camp store, I bought this cute fisherman's hat for Miso... Isn't she cute??

As you can see she is absolutely THRILLED to be sporting this cool hat. =0)

We had some excitement on the last night we were there (there is always some kind of drama when I go camping...remember my little bug friend that flew inside my ear? btw - according to my friend who went camping with us who happens to be a nurse practicioner, the little guy is green and is STUCK to my ear drum - I am going to have to see a Dr. to have him try to flush the little bugger out)...Anyways....back to the excitement, some idiot in the campground next to us, actually drove his car into the water main causing a ton of water to come gushing out. The poor park rangers had to come and search for the valve to shut off all the water (which affected our water hookup). Luckily it took them a little while to figure out which rock the valve was hidden under so we filled up our fresh water tank before they shut everything off.

All in all it was a good trip. We don't have any more trips planned for another 2 weeks. School will be starting tomorrow and things will be back to normal (I hope!)

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

Talk to you soon!

I HATE BUGSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!

My family and I just got back from a week long camping trip to EAGLE LAKE.
We were so excited to go and join some of our other friends and their families
who have been going to this lake for years and talking about how great it is.

We got there (after 6 hours of driving) and were pretty tired. My DH had to get up at 5am to go fishing with the rest of the guys so we decided to get a good night's sleep. Good idea, except I had one little problem that turned into a big problem.
Right at the exact moment I laid my head down on my pillow, a bug flew into my ear and wouldn't come back out. I'm grabbing my ear yelling,"There's a bug in my ear!!!!!!"....my DH is like "are you sure"? I'm hitting the side of my head frantically hoping to knock the darn thing out (don't ask me why I thought hitting my head would help the situation any, but I was not thinking straight at that point).
I go into the bathroom and have my DH try to pour some bottled water into my ear thinking maybe it will drown the little sucker. It doesn't work and just makes my ear even more uncomfortable from the cold water. We wait to see if he stops flying (of course I refer to this bug as a "HE" because a female would not do something so annoying!!)...there's no movement for a minute and then all of a sudden I hear wings flapping like crazy and I yell "DID YOU HEAR THAT?????????????!!!!!!!" My DH is like "I can't hear it stupid, it's in YOUR ear!!!!!" This thing sound like a 747 inside my ear.....it was awful!!!!! At the time I thought it was a moth or something. So my DH is using a q-tip trying to dig it out of my ear, while shining a flashlight inside my ear, he can't see anything so he says maybe you just thought it flew in your ear and are hearing things....right then it starts flying again and I'm yelling and screaming "GET IT OUT!!!! GET IT OUT!!!!!!"....We had no luck and were both getting tired so we try and lie down to get some sleep since my husband has to be up early in the morning. The bug stops flying long enough for me to fall asleep and then I hear the wings flapping again and it startles me and I'm accidentally punching my husband saying "What was that?" THen I realize it's my litte bug friend in my ear still trying to find his way out. I decide I will shine a flash light (bugs are attracted to light right???) and he will follow the light and will fly his way out of my ear. NO LUCK. Finally about 6:30am I can't take it anymore, I walk out of my motorhome in my pink ducky flannel pajamas ( i could care less who sees me in my pjs at this moment) and I go knock on my friend PEggy's RV door (Peggy is about 25 years older than me and far wiser and surely will know what to do in this horrific situation). I say "Peg! I dunno what to do, there's a bug flying inside my ear and he won't come out!!!!". She has me come in, and gets herself a cup of coffee nad tries to analyze the situation and figure out what our first step will be. We try having me drink some hot tea and holding it at the back of my mouth while plugging my nose hoping it will steam the little bugger out. It doesn't work. So....she decides we will move on to plan B. She has me lie down on the bed on my side with the ear that's hurting facing up and she pours mineral oil into my ear and I lie there for 30 mins. She's hoping that the oil will stop the bug from flying cause his wings will get heavy and sticky. We wait....30 mins go by, no flying....She then has me lie on my back for another 15 mins and we realize still no flying...yeah!!!! We have no drown the dirty b&^tard!!!! Not sure what ever happened to the little guy, I"m just soooo happy he is no longer flying inside my ear...that was the worst thing ever!!!!Of course being the scrapbookers that Peg and I are, we had to have me pose with the mineral oil bottle and a few other props and take pictures to remember this horrible event....I can laugh at it now, but at the time it really was horrible. If you ever go camping, PLEASE check your pillow before you lie down, better yet, shove cotton balls in your ears before sleeping, that's what I did for the rest of the trip....I'm not taking chances!!!!! BTW- when we got back, we looked up bug in ear online and my friend actually advised me to do the right thing, mineral oil was the advice the online medical site gave. I think I will still call the Dr's office and have them check my ear out just to be safe....

Thanks for listening to my crazy camping story! The rest of the trip was relaxing and enjoyable!!!!!
