My Skater Boy...

My son has taken an interest in skateboarding again, among the other sports he likes to play. We went to a skate park in our city on Sunday and the kids had a great time... I can't wait to get the new Extreme Boy scrapbooking line so I can scrap some skate pics!!!

My Weekend....

This weekend went by so fast. We had a baseball game on saturday, my son caught the final out which brought their team to victory...it was SO exciting!!!!!

After the game we went to the fleamarket in SJ. I took a few pics cause I want to do a layout on it (I know, what's so exciting about a fleamarket??) well my DH and I have been together since I was 15 and we used to love to go to the San Jose fleamarket all the time, and now it's become a tradition for our family to go especially on hot summer days...we dont' really ever buy much, just have fun eating, walking around oh and of course I always have to get a pound of chile' pistachios (my FAVORITE!!!)before we leave.

Don't you just love weddings????

I went to one of my friend's weddings a week ago and had so much fun!!!! My friend was previously married to a TOTAL JERK!!!! She married a really nice guy this time who absolutely adores her and will treat her right...I'm really happy for her

Here is a pic of Me, my friend Tina (the bride) and my other friend Veronica:

Here is my family....we all had a good time, we even got my son out on the dance floor (he is just kinda learning how to dance so it was cute)

I *heart* BLING!!

My friend sent me this little BLING thing of pink and white rhinestones to bling out your phone, ipod, whatever you want...I was bored this afternoon and decided to give my cell a makeover.....it's it cute?!?!?! =0)

Got my nails did.....

Yup it's that time again where the weather is nice and I am in flip-flops 24/7!!! I love this weather we are having and hopefully it will stay this way for a while...

Got my nails and toes done recently which I love to do and don't get to do nearly as often as I like.....while I was there, I couldn't stop thinking of this funny video that was going around a few months back...it totally cracks me up, thought I would share it here:

That's my girl!!!

My good friend T from my recipe club (3CMG's) was on tv twice this week for her company she works for which is a local bay area company but is one of the world's largest bathing suit manufacturers. They did an interview on kron4 news and then had a 1 hour special the following night...go T!!!!!!!

Cool things....

how cool is this altered mirror I came across on a blog....

Need to go grocery shopping...

I found this recipe on another blog and since we have absouletly no meat in the house other than hamburger meat, I think I will try this and maybe just maybe DH will like it (he hates ground beef!)...but since it's an asian dish it just might fly with him. here it is: (edited to add this was taken from nora griffin's cooking blog: http://noragriffin.typepad.com/cook/

Hamburger Chop Suey

This was one my mom's recipes...quick and good. I substitute beef broth for the 2 cups of water to give it more flavor...oh and I try to get it all made and then let it simmer for the 20 minutes the rice takes to cook so that it's more flavorful too.
1 pound ground beef
1 onion chopped
1/2 cup celery
1 tsp beef buillion
2 cup hot water
1/4 cup cold water
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp corn starch
8 oz can water chestnuts
4 c cooked rice
Brown beef in skillet and stir in onion, celery, buillion and hot water. Boil then reduce heat. Mix cold water, corn starch and soy sauce together and stir into skillet. Boil 1 minute stur in remaining ingredients.

Baby Shower Favors are FINISHED!!!

Woo hoo! One more thing I can mark off my never ending "to do" list! My friend Trish and I got the baby shower favors finished last night. I found these cute little hexagon boxes at Michael's, and filled them with individually wrapped butter mints that say BABY BOY. I used the stiff felt from M's, and cut out daisy flowers with my sizzix, and put a button in the middle with these cute little metal tag charms that say "It's a boy". Simple and cute. We're gonna arrange them on a 3 tiered cake plate as a centerpiece at the shower...

Miso's New Bed!!!

My friend and I send each other "care packages" about 1x a month. Ever since she moved away to Illinois we decided we would do this to help keep in touch more and it would be fun to send each other stuff that you can't get in our state. So today's care package had all kinds of fun stuff in it, my favorite though is the absolutely A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E dog bed and pillow that she made for Miso. Isn't this the cutest dog bed you've ever seen? I almost want my own comforter in this pattern it's so PRETTY!!!!!! And girly which I love!

Here is Miso relaxing in her new bed (this is right as soon as it arrived in the mail she immediately went and lied down on it!)

Other cool things I got was this cute t-shirt that says "chillin' with my peeps" (I love easter peeps, I think I've mentioned that before)...cute scrapbooking supplies, some bling for my cell phone, some white sox stuff for my son (he plays for the white sox this year), and a few things for my husband (my friend's husband works for a large hobby company and sends cool stuff that he knows my husband would like for his r/c stuff)!

Housekeeping Quiz....

here is a fun housekeeping quiz.

Aprons - Y/N? If yes, what does your favorite look like?

Yes. I have a few aprons. None of them are anything special. I have seen some online that I've been thinking about buying but haven't yet. =0)

Baking - Favorite thing to bake: Brownies

Clothesline - Y/N? I dont' have a clothes line but it's only because my back patio isn't very big. We have a nice big trellis in the back yard though that works perfectly for drying clothes...I just hang everything on hangers and hang them from the trellis.

Donuts - No, but my mom always did when I was growing up...they were the BEST!!!! I think I'll have to ask her for the recipe.

Every day - One homemaking thing you do every day: dishes!!!!

Freezer - Do you have a separate deep freeze? No but I have a 2nd refrigerator/freezer in the garage.

Garbage Disposal - Y/N? Yes.

Handbook - Martha Stewart Homekeeping Handbook

Ironing - Love it or Hate it? I don't mind ironing but we rearely need something to be ironed in our house.

Junk Drawer - Y/N? Yes, several.

Kitchen - Color and decorating scheme? Light maple cabinets with light cream / taupe stone tile floors, and taupe walls with white crown moulding.

Love - What is your favorite part of homemaking? Lately, laundry and hang drying everything, it smells so good!

Nylons - Nope...I live in Sunny California, usually am tan enough to go without!

Oven - Do you use the window or open the door to check?- I usually just open the door.

Pizza - What do you put on yours?- depends on what we have in the fridge.

Quiet - Read or just sit and listen and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Style of house - What is the style of your house? It's very small, we've added onto the house because we needed more room (which is why our back patio is small). I wouls say my style is casual / modern. Very neutral tones in the house, lots of taupe, browns, creams, earthy tones.

Tablecloths and napkins - Y/N? Depends. Usually I like to see the wood tabletop so I use decorative placemats but sometimes for special occasions I use tableclothes and napkins.

Not a good hair day for Miso!!!!

Haven't had a chance to book a grooming appointment for my dog Miso (named after the Japanese soup cause she's japanese and I love Miso soup) - so I decided to give her a quick bath myself..there is NOTHING quick about it, she has long hair like a cat and it takes FOR-E-VER to dry...so I had to make it amusing and take a few pics of her with her hair all wild....I see a funny scrapbook layout in the near future....

Can you tell she is not thrilled at all about getting her bath???

Throwin' a Baby Shower....

Seems like everyone is having babies this summer! Hopefully hanging around all these pregnant women will rub off on me and I too will get prego! (I can hope right?) anyways.....I am throwing a baby shower along with my friend Trish in a few weeks for our good friend Liana (these are my girls from the cooking / recipe club). Thought I would share the invites I made for the shower...the scans didn't turn out very well for some reason....

I'm a happy girl!!!!!

Yesterday my son and his friend wanted me to take them to the mall. I swear we were there for almost 4 hours!!!!! The kids spent hours figuring out what "fitted hats" they wanted (apparantly, the adjustable hats are not as cool as fitted hats I am learning).

We spent 30 minutes in the Sweet Factory store picking out candy - we were in there so long I could no longer stand it, I had to grab a bag and pick out a few of my favorites too!

I went to Sunglass Hut *hoping* to find the sunglasses I've been wanting that I found online....and sure enough they had one pair left!!!! I am a HAPPY GIRL!!!!!
