About Me
Last night I completed my "About Me" layouts for the Recipe Club Circle Journals (I had to make 3 of them). I think they turned out pretty good. I wasn't sure at first, as I've never done one like this with writing every which way but as I began to fill in the space I think it turned out okay. I'm so excited cause it's the first project I got to use my new sewing machine on!!! Anyways...here are the pictures:

A funny thing that happened in Toys R Us....
I forgot to mention this funny thing that happened in toys r us yesterday in my previous post. So......
I'm in the video game department with my cart loaded up to the top with toys and games and videos. The lady in front of me has a newborn baby strapped to her chest in one of those snugly things. When the cashier hands her the shopping bag, she accidentally knocks down this stand with a million sony PSP brochures in it.. She obviously can't bend over to pick them up with the way the baby is strapped in so I immediately go and pick them all up and put them back. Good deed for the day, CHECK!
So while I'm doing that, another couple get in line in front of my overloaded shopping cart. I get back in line, see that they have only 2 items and I have a million, no big deal they can go first. I'm in no hurry. I don't even mention to them that I was next in line.
Well, the lady starts asking the other cashier if this is the right game she needs, she wants the one that just came out, her and the cashier walk to the back and her husband or boyfriend stays at the counter waiting. Well she takes a really long time and the guy finally tells the cashier to go ahead and ring her up (pointing at me) and he leaves the game on the counter and walks back to where his wife is.
The cashier proceeds to ring me up, he's scanned about 5 of my things so far and the lady walks up irritated and says "um, we were READY!!" with an attitude like WHY are you ringing HER up, we were NEXT!. I told her, he said to go ahead and ring me up. She was like well we were next and you have a lot of stuff in your cart! I said "Yes I do, and that's fine, he can void me out and ring you up. But just so you know your husband is the one who told the cashier to ring me up so don't yell at him or me, talk to your husband!". She stomped off and yelled DAVID!!! to her husband and then they were back getting rang up (in front of me) and then she just said "Thank You!" all rude to me. How annoying!!!!!! I was proud of myself though for saying something because normally I would just keep quiet and b*tch about it later. But I actually said something and stood up for the cashier. Some people are so rude.

Christmas Shopping....are you done yet?
I have to say that Monday was a pretty productive day for me. I had my morning talk with my BF Valerie (who moved to Illinois) and we both decided when we hung up on the phone we would head to Toys R' Us to get all our xmas toy shopping done. NOw normally, I would just order everything on Amazon.com - but I decided it'd be much easier and I wouldn't have a million amazon.com boxes to get rid of afterwards if I just go to toys r us and buy everything at once. So...............................
I'm excited to say that I am just about finished with all my xmas shopping. I have a gift card to pick up from Pier 1 for my brother's girlfriend. Normally I would buy or make something with a little more thought put into it, but my brother and his girlfriend just bought their first house and I think the gift card will come in handy. She has a 3700sf house to decorate, and I don't know what her decorating style is yet so I think a gift card will be the best way to go.
The rest of my gifts I need to make, which is one of the to-dos that's been running through my head over and over again.
I hit macys after toys r us, and went into the watch dept. to get this super cute anne klein charm watch for my sister. I was kicking myself because Macys had a friends & family 15% discount a week ago and I forgot to go in. So I went in prepared to pay the full price and mentioned missing the previous sale and the saleperson told me, well we can just presale this, you pay for it now but it won't actually charge your card til wednesday, you pick it up on wednesday and get 20% off....SWEET!!!!!!
So of course, now I've saved a whoppin' 19 bucks, I have to go to the mens dept and spend 200.00 buying a bunch of shirts for my DH. I noticed the other night when going through some of my favorite pics of me and my DH or of my family that my husband seems to have the same shirt on in many of the pics. For some reason when we go somewhere, he picks this light blue striped polo shirt to wear with jeans...ha ha. So I decided okay, this guy needs more shirts to choose from so we don't look like we had some crazy photo shoot of family pics all in one day!
Of course I don't stop there, then they ring me up, they're out of gift boxes, so I have to go to gift wrap dept., then I decide well, my DS needs some shirts too so I'm off to the kids dept. and bought him a bunch of shirts and a pair of jeans. Then back to the gift dept. to get more boxes.
After that I went to Burger King (which I do not like to eat at all, I actually don't like fast food very much anymore) but my friend told me that Burger King has these cool X-Box games for 3.99 with a value meal. This is the king of mom I am, I was prepare to buy 3...count them....1-2-3 value meals just so I could buy all 3 games in one day. But lucky for me and my diet, the cashier only made me buy one value meal and I was able to buy as many games as I wanted! So I ended up getting 2 of each so my friend doesn't have to eat BK either (sorry burger king!!). I was actually more excited about the 3 xbox games for 3.99 each that all the stuff I bought at Toys R Us!!!! ha ha!
After that I went home and are you ready for this...I wrapped EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!
I am on a roll I tell ya! NOw I just need a Christmas Tree to put the presents under!
Hopefully my DH will get off early one day this week so we can get our tree.....
I'd better mark that down on my list of things to do!

It's 5:00am....what am I doing up????
Don't ask me why but for some reason, atleast 1-2x per week I waked up way earlier than necessary and can't get back to sleep. Usually I end up on the computer checking email, or going on 2peas, or I catch up on all my shows I've tivo'd and had no time to watch.
I think I wake up because I'm always running a long list of to-dos in my head and can't relax enough to just stay asleep...does this ever happen to you??? It drives me NUTS!!!!!!!
It's funny actually because during the day I'm always trying to remember what it is I need to do, and if I don't have it written down on a to do list, most likely it will not get done, but during the night when I should be relaxed in la la land, there goes my to do list...running through my head. I think I"ll put a note pad and pencil next to my bed, and when I start thinking of stuff I need to get done, I'll just quickly write it down and hopefully I can get back to sleep.....
Sorry for the rambling......this is what you get on my blog at 5am!!!!!

Scrap Room is ALMOST COMPLETED!!!!!!
I am SOOO excited that this room is almost finished! I'm waiting on some friends to do some trim work in the room for me (around the window and closet) and crown molding. Need one more shelf hung, and will hang a 18x24" canvas I'm working on on the wall behind the bed (will post pics of that when it's finished). Anyways...here are the pics of the room so far.
This first pic is of a cabinet I added on AFTER the built-in desk was put in. I decided I *still* did not have enough space for all my things.... I have my ribbon organized by color in one drawer, all my flowers, sewing stuff, eyelets, brads, etc. in another drawer, and SU! markers, and miscellaneous tools in the top drawer. ON the shelf is a Kodak Brownie camera, the letters FAMILY, a candle, a little wire basket and a vintage jar with red, black, and taupe ribbons. I'm going to hand another shelf like this one soon:
This picture shows my brand new sewing machine (broke this baby out the box today, can't wait to use it after taking the scrapbooking sewing class a few weeks ago!), my cricut machine, a vintage wire tote with all my coloring pencils, my AMM tote with all the necessities, some vintage jars with flowers, and embellishments I'm anxious to use soon! Don't mind the ugly chair, I have an armless bankers chair on order and hopefully it will be here soon!
Full view of the desktop, basket has all my supplies for the A Year To Remember class by Big Picture Scrapbooking (this won't stay on top of the desk for good, just have it there to throw in supplies as I buy everything), a carousel from Pampered Chef that holds more pens and tools, my directv satellite box - a reminder from my hubsand to call them tomorrow to get it hooked up in my scrap room!, and some clutter in the corner I need to put this stuff somewhere....
Here is a pic of my new bed I had built. It's a copy of the one in the Pottery Barn catalog only the wood matches my desk and cabinets. The bedding is from PB. The baskets underneath store matching red guest towels, trial size toiletries for overnight guests, sheets, extra blankets / bedding, and some cardinal red canvas material from PB that I'm going to use to make a valance for the window and chair cushions for my desk chair and rocking chair that will be added to the room later (they're both black wood). The baskets on the other side of the bed store my scrapbooking idea books and magazines.
The closet stores all my picture boxes, class kits, projects I'm going to be working on in the future, my sizzix, ink pad carousel, lazy suzan double decker for all my acrylic paints, all my stamp sets, canvas, albums, navigator and XXL and other totes for going to crops.
Hope you've enjoyed a little peek into my scrap room! I'll post more pictures as I get more accomplished (hopefully the 18x24 canvas I'll have done soon!

What to get the girl who has everything???
My 9 year old niece is kinda hard to shop for. She seems to have everything! Well the other day I was on the dooney and bourke website and I found the perfect gift!!!! Here it is:
The doll wears a striking outfit, perfect for the chic woman in a casual mood. The denim jacket features decaled “pins”. The pink bohemian skirt is attached to an intricate, satin and chiffon top that wraps around and ties in front. Accessories include 3 “bamboo” bangles, golden hoop earrings, pink headscarf, open-toed wedges, and D&B initial necklace. The purse repeats the Dooney & Bourke motif. Plaid shopping bag completes the ensemble.
***I thought this would be a cute collector barbie for her.....I almost wanted one of these for myself but I held back ha ha!

HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!!!!!
Just wanted to say HAPPY THANKSGIVING to everyone and their families. I am so grateful to have all my friends and family. Today we are going to my mom's house for Thanksgiving Dinner. It'll be a very small group, actually it might just be my mom, me, my husband and my son oh and also our dog Miso. =0) My sister and her husband have to rotate on the Thanksgiving and Xmas gatherings between our family and her husband's family who live in Reno so we won't see them today but we'll celebrate Xmas this year with them.
I am SOOOOOOO looking forward to a turkey dinner! I was going to host thanksgiving this year but my mom wanted to do it, now that she's retired she is getting back into cooking and hosting events at her house which is nice. I don't mind just coming as a guest hee hee. I am making the "green bean casserole" dish and bringing an appetizer. =0)
I hope you all have a wonderful day with your families!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Dear Hubby!!!!!
So, yesterday was my husband's 36th birthday. This was the first year I didn't really plan anything, I feel bad, cause I usually have a cake, a card, presents, etc. way in advance (well not the cake, I get that right before we give it to him ha ha)....so much has been going on this past week that there just wasn't enough time to pull something together. My husband isn't really a big fan of celebrating holidays anyways so he wasn't crushed or anything.
We thought the "Good GUys" car show was this weekend, turns out it was last weekend they just still have signs up from it at the Pleasanton Fairgrounds. This weekend was the Harvest Festival...I would have loved to go to that but don't think that would fly with my DH. So we ended up going to the Blackhawk Auto Museum in Danville. We had a great time. Walked around the shops at Blackhawk Plaza first - went into Restoration Hardware and bought a few stocking stuffers...if you are looking for some cute stuff, go to their website, they have all these neat vintage games and things for stockings! I bought my DS pick up sticks, a prank kit, magic tricks, and a few other things. I got my DH a cute little tackle box for his stocking with some lures and stuff.
Then we ate at Alberto's Cantina. Their food is DELISH!!!!! We split a bunch of stuff, Ceviche Cocktail, Posole' (I LOVED THIS - it tasted like my friend's mom's recipe, super good!) and an appetizer plate with mini burritos, quesadillas, flautas, and chimichangas....yum yum!
Here are some pics from the restaurant (which is cool cause in the center of the plaza there is a little river that runs through with waterfalls, it's really pretty)

Pics from Tangee's visit and class at Suzy's
Okay, Tangee sent me the pictures from this weekend (can't wait to see the rest of the ones we took at Chevys! - send them soon girlie!)
Here are me and Tangee at Suzy's scrap garage:
Here are Suzy, Me, Nicole and Michelle:
Here are Suzy and Michelle being silly....
I will post more pics as I get them later on....We started our day by meeting up at Suzy's garage store, ended up going to lunch with everyone that was there (Nicole, Suzy, Lizz, Tangee, Michelle and myself. We went to Chevy's and had a great lunch, ran to Michael's really quick to pick up a few things. Saw some CRAZY pumpkin snowmen that were on display and for sale for $5.00 I totally wish we had taken a picture of these things, they were crazy looking! It's like M's was trying to get rid of all their fake carveable pumpkins so they spray painted them white and decorated them like snowmen only they looked like they were on crack or something it was hilarious!!!!!!
After M's, we went back to Suzy's shopped, (I even did a little shopping for my BF Valerie who moved away, I called her and shopped over the phone ha ha!). THen we did our class. The project was really cute! You can see it on www.bayareascrappers.com it's the THANKFUL purse album by Nicole. SUPER CUTE! I was going to make it as a gift for someone but decided I wanted to keep it for myself!
Anyways....it was a really fun day. It was great to FIN-UH-LEE meet Tangee in person, we met through 2peas a few years ago and have kept in touch and finally got to meet!!! We're going to plan a crop with some of the bay area peas (Suburbanmom - you are coming next time!!!!!!!)....I think it will be a lot of fun!

3CMGs....
My friends and I decided to start a recipe club, just the 3 of us. We named it the 3CMGs which stands for "The Three Course Meal Girls". We get together 1x per month and take turns making an appetizer, main course and dessert. Last night was our 2nd meeting, we had so much fun. I made circle journals for each of us. Here are a few pics from our night....
This is the circle journals I made:
Here are me and Liana (we like to use props in our pics...adds to the fun! ha ha)
Here are the 3CMGs (Liana, Me & Trish)
We had such a good time, and I think out of all the things we made (Trish made stuffed potatoes, I made Swiss Crockpot Chicken and Liana made a Lemon Cake) - I liked the stuffed potatoes best! They had two different cheeses, diced chiles, tuna, salt & pepper, and potatoes, it was TO DIE FOR!!!!!!!

Scrapbook Classes
My friend Tangee who I met from 2peas over a year or so ago is coming to our area to take a class at "the Garage". I'm looking forward to going to lunch and taking the class as well...should be fun and I'll end up with an xmas gift for someone out of it!
I love taking scrapbooking classes. I don't do it as often as I should....that will be my new year's resolution to take more time for myself and learn new things through scrappin' classes. To start my resolution off early, I've signed up for Heidi Swapps class "A Year To Remember" - thanks for the info Tangee, looks like a great class, I can't wait! For the price, it'd better be good huh?! =)
I love the convenience of doing it at your own pace around your schedule. And having online resources, etc.
If anyone knows of other online scrap classes where you get your class kits in the mail and can go online to get more info, please post the sites here or message me...
Thanks!

5 weird things about myself. i am only doing this because it is so easy to think of weird things about myself, so it will just take a minute.
1. I love weird candy like Circus Peanuts, Stale Peeps at Easter (they are only good if you poke holes in the packaging weeks before eating them - I think they are absolutely DISGUSTING when they are fresh) =0)
2. I like to eat chicken and waffles (not fried chicken, but chicken peices with gravy poured over waffles....don't ask, it's something my family has eaten for YEARS!)
3. I am a mom, and I like HIP-HOP...not afraid to admit it!!!!!
4. I can watch Jim Carrey movies OVER AND OVER.....I love his movies....(the comedies that is).
5. I HATE tomatoes, but I like salsa, I don't particularly care for avocados unless they're made into guacamole.... I know I'm weird but that's what this is all about!!!
TAG! You're it! I wanna see 5 weird facts about you on your blog..... =0)
let me know when you've posted so I can check yours out!

Enjoying the 3 day weekend.....
It is so nice to have a 3-day weekend! My son didn't have school on Friday in observance of Veterans Day. After the week I've had it's just nice to have a long weekend, get some things done around the house and what is even nicer is to not have plans.... It seems like for the past 3 months or so we have been booked up every single weekend. I got a lot of chores done today. Last night we went to our friend's house for poker night. All the husbands played poker in the garage, and me and my girlfriends goofed around doing karaoke. My friend has a grand piano, so they had me playing songs on the piano while they belted out the lyrics...it was a blast! =0)
Today I got a lot of organizing done in my scrap room, I know I promised to post pics when the guest / scraproom is finished and I will be posting them soon... Just a few more things to be done in there and it will be complete!
I took a break to be "creative" for a while...and came up with this cute little card for my best friend that moved away. (VALERIE IF YOU ARE READING THIS.....do not scroll down unless you've already received my card in the mail!!!!)

I'm enclosing some pictures we took our last day together before she left. Me, Valerie and Mindy got together with the kiddos at Chuck E Cheese one last time (that was one of our usual meeting places, the kids can run wild while we visit with one another. Anyways....I'm going to send this card, and my DS is going to send each of her kids a letter. I know the boys will be excited to get mail from their friend in California. =0)
Well, I think I'll end this now. I'm going to go take a relaxing bath and get to bed early (we didn't get home from poker night til 2:30am!!!).
Good Night!

My Best Friend.....
My best friend moved away this week. She left Sunday for the long drive from California to Ilinois. They are now at their new home and I'm very happy for her and her family, but I miss her so much. We're used to talking to each other every morning after we drop off the kids to school and throughout the day. Her husband is off from work for a few weeks til his new job starts and then I think it will get back more into a routine and she'll have more time to talk. It's so weird though not being able to talk to her whenever. =0(
MEAN PEOPLE SUCK!!!!!!!
This is what we woke up to yesterday morning:
It's really a shame ..you can't have nice things without people being jealous and too sorry to work for the same thing and so they would rather steal from you!
We woked up to our neighbor knocking on the door, went outside to see my car sitting on bricks (that were taken from around my tree in my front yard, so not only did they steal my rims and tires, they messed with my landscaping!!!!!
They cut the wires on the lights for our motion detector and we actually have a little surveillance camera above the garage door and they messed with that as well.
10 years almost we have been living here and never a problem, now this. It really makes you feel unsafe. Someone definitely planned this out thoroughly.
I'm not sure I even want to put nice rims/tires back on my car to only have them stolen again. =0(
I think I'll just invest in a bumper sticker that says: MEAN PEOPLE SUCK!!!
